Caryn Thomas '05 M'09
Crime Mapping Analyst
Caryn holds a B.A. in Business Management and an M.A. in Psychology both from Washington College and brings a year of intense crime mapping and training experience along with a strong technology background to the program. Caryn first learned the skills of cartography while working in the Office of College Advancement, producing alumni and donor maps.
While working in the GIS program this past year she has gained valuable experience in the fast pace world of crime mapping, providing maps on demand for the Governor's Office and other law enforcement agencies across the state including Prince George's County PD, St. Michael's PD, and Talbot County Sheriff. She also provides training for crime analysts from other agencies to become self-sufficient in their map making abilities. She also provides assistance, technical support, and troubleshooting to advance their education in GIS. Caryn also schedules and helps manage the 20+ GIS interns who work in the lab.
